Loxys was born from one stylist's two-year hunt for hair extensions that actually delivered - ethically sourced, flawlessly consistent, and kind to the people who grow them. Hundreds of salons and tens of thousands of heads later, we're still obsessed.

Loxys didn't start as a brand. It started as one stylist, one chair, and one stubborn question — why is it so hard to find hair extensions you can actually trust? Sixteen years and tens of thousands of heads later, here's the short version.
A stylist falls in love with a micro-weft.
Our founder Kate Gardien discovered her love for extensions — but hated the application methods on offer. Then she stumbled on a unique micro-weft technique, and that was it. She was hooked.
After extensive training across every method she could find, she opened Loxy's Hair Boutique — a salon built around extensions, obsessed with the details nobody else was obsessing over.
"At one point I had to replace over 20 sets of extensions because of a bad batch I didn't know I'd received."
Finding reliable, top-quality hair turned out to be the hardest part of the whole job. Supplier after supplier. Every problem imaginable: inconsistency, shedding, matting, colour variance, hair that looked perfect on arrival and fell apart six weeks later.
So Kate set out to fix the problem for good.
Two years scouring the world.
She visited factory after factory. She saw poor conditions, missing quality control, and practices that weren't remotely sustainable. She also saw, occasionally, operations that were doing it right — and built a checklist of what "right" actually looks like.

She found it. Then kept working on it.
After rigorous research, Kate found the high-quality, ethically sourced hair she was looking for. For over a decade, her team of 20+ stylists worked exclusively with this hair — day in, day out — ensuring consistent quality and leaving tens of thousands of clients delighted.
Working with the same hair daily let us do something most brands can't: perfect the recipe for longevity, care, colour handling, and application. The detail work.
Word got out. Salons across NZ and Australia asked if they could put us on their service menus.
